eBay, the online retail giant came to iThinkMedia for support on specific category pages across a range of industries. Following detailed research these 12,000 pages had been identified as pages that needed to improve their rankings in order to drive increased traffic and thus conversions.
Being highly data driven, iThinkMedia suggested an A/B test whereby we’d experiment with 6,000 of these pages initially to check for an uplift in rankings. This would minimise the risk for our client, whilst also allowing us to learn more about what works for different categories.
Looking in-depth at the pages, the recommendation was to add high quality, informative copy to the 6,000 pages to give the user context of the products they were shopping alongside deliver a better shopping journey.
