Our marketing goals for WWE are based around leveraging the high WWE fan online usage to increase revenues for their Pay-Per-View and Live Tours.
The WWE Universe spans globally so wherever the WWE tour or have a Pay-Per-View – we go. From Australia, through India and the Middle East all around Europe we have used a combination of Search Engine Marketing, Display and social advertising to raise awareness, drive traffic and revenues for WWE.
Since 2011 we have run activity for:
- Over 15 Pay-per-View events in co-operation with BSKYB, including WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, Extreme Rules, TLC & Survivor Series
- Over 130 Live Events in multiple languages and continents, including Australia, New Zealand, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Romania, Belgium, France, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Holland, Mexico, Brazil, Uruguay, South Africa and the UK
WWE offered an exclusive 48hr pre-sales window with BSkyB’s new event ticketing business – SKY Tickets. iThinkMedia were drafted to increase awareness and drive sales across digital media during this short period.
Through careful selection of the appropriate media and specially formulated targeting, iThinkMedia created the environment for the initiative to be a resounding success driving mass traffic to the SKY site. With tickets selling out for some cities in hours, more tickets had to be allocated with both parties’ expectations were exceeded.
Wrestlemania XXVIII was the biggest WWE event in history with 1.3 million pay per view subscriptions and seen by an estimated 4 million people worldwide.
iThinkMedia targeted audiences across Europe, Australasia, South America and Mexico using a range of media on Search Engines, YouTube, Facebook and Desktop and Mobile targeted display campaigns.
In total iThinkMedia achieved over 425 million impressions and drove over 1 million visitors to WWE.com in a 4 week period.

- YouTube UK Mobile takeover for Wrestlemania XXVIII attracted 3.9 million impressions & achieved a CTR of 1.46%
